Casitas de Merced is a twenty-eight-unit community comprising twenty-four 1-bedroom units and four 2-bedroom units in Somerset, TX. Site amenities include a community room and patio, laundry facilities, on-site parking & a country setting.

Income qualifications: Forty percent of the units (12 units) are reserved for individuals and families with incomes at or below 50% of the Area Median Income (AMI) and the remaining 16 units are reserved for individuals and families with incomes at or below 60% of AMI.  Additionally, 80% of the units are designated for people 55+ years of age. 
The property management company, Prak Property Management, also requires that each household have a monthly income that is at least two and a half times the amount of their monthly rent payment.  Casitas de Merced accepts Section 8 Housing Choice vouchers.

Resident Services Available: The resident services available include recreational activities, transportation to needed social services, and referrals to needed social services and health care agencies. Merced Housing Texas produces a bilingual monthly newsletter for residents with information about upcoming events and community resources.
